What was meant to be a prayer service in Qunu in the Eastern Cape for the ill-fated Madiba, turned into a podium for political speak. AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo decided to use the opportunity to let go of some of his thoughts regarding the ANC.
In front of AbaThembu chiefs, clergy and villagers gathered together at the Bumbane Great Place on Saturday. He stated that he could “no longer sit idly by and watch the organisation his forefathers gave birth to being destroyed from within.”
Here are some of his direct quotes on the matter.
If the ANC does not change its direction and keeps on behaving arrogant[ly], rather vote for the DA, it has never oppressed anybody.
Based on the recent “relationship” between Zuma and the Gupta’s, the King had this to say:
It seems like we don’t have human beings in the ANC listening to [party] members. We have members rushing for the Guptas’ dustbins.
If you eat out of the dustbins of the Guptas you are a non-starter. If you fear to speak out about what is wrong …we are not.
We are not rushing for the Guptas’ dustbins. You [the ANC] have been corrupted by rich people,” said Dalindyebo to loud applause
Zuma’s leadership is distorting Madiba’s leadership; it’s distorting the ANC’s leadership
The King took it a step further to say that “If the ANC continues to [govern] the country for the next 10 years then you should know that your freedom will be compromised” and wished for them to be taken “out democratically.”
Of course the ANC released a statement in Zuma’s defense accusing the King of abusing his power defending the “leader” from “opposition forces.”
