Meet Verashni Pillay:
Verashni Pillay is the Mail & Guardian online’s deputy editor and sometimes columnist. When she’s not stirring up readers with her views on race, politics and sometimes theology she loves cycling and hiking around Johannesburg. A one-time online journalist, her thrill these days is watching the rest of the world get online… With a gentle shove or two on her part.
A reluctant Apple-convert, you’ll find her staring intently into her iPhone crafting the perfect tweet or Instagram shot. Follow her on Twitter, here.
Meet Amanda Strydom:
Amanda Strydom is the Mail & Guardian online’s night editor. With a background in science and journalism, her interests include everything from politics to modern fiction.
She first picked up headphones on UJfm as a newsreader and later a current affairs show host. After working in commercial radio as a traffic presenter and newsreader, the world of online at the Mail & Guardian beckoned.
She has a black belt (third dan) in ballet and, according to a statistical analysis of the past three years, reads 2.73 books every week.
She never finishes her tea, although she won’t say no to a cupcake. But only just this once. Follow Amanda on Twitter, here. Follow the Mail & Guardian on Twitter, here.
