These health professionals want to cure cancer and are using the HIV virus to fight cancer. A clinical trial was conducted where patients with no hope of surviving their disease where given this ‘treatment’.
According to Carl H. June, MD at the University of Pennsylvania:
What we have learned how to do is train the immune system to recognise and then kill tumour cells.
David L. Porter, MD at the University of Pennsylvania said:
It is a procedure where we collect their T cells and they are infected with a virus that will gentically change them so that they will now see and react against their leukemia cells.
The procedure takes the HIV virus and infects healthy cells to help kill cancer cells. June said:
The virus has been engineered so that it cant cause disease anymore bu still retains the ability to reporgramme the immune system so that it will now attack cancer cells.
