We told you recently about Drive Dry’s spot of goodvertising they had undertaken to reduce instances of driving drunk in young adult South Africans (us, you crazy kids). Here’s a brief rundown of how the campaign works, for those of you who missed it the first time around.
Navigate to DriveDry.co.za, sign in with your Facebook details, and choose whether you’ll pledge to drink, or drive by clicking on an icon.
The Drive Dry site will pull your existing Facebook events on to the site, and you choose at which event you’ll be making your pledge to either drink, or drive.
That’ll keep you accountable. Plus, you know, you’ll be able to arrange lifts.
All of which is in itself fantastic. But there’s an extra carrot.
Keep at it and you’ll not just be helping your friends out, you’ll also earn rewards that get better the more often you declare. We’re talking vouchers from Vida-e-Cafe, Pick ‘n Pay, Engen convenience shop, KFC, and other outlets.
And on 1 July, Drive Dry will make a donation to South Africans Against Drunk Driving, and the donation will increase in size proportionate to the number of declarations they get.
1000 declarations = R20 000 donation
2000 declarations = R40 000 donation
3000 declarations = R60 000 donation
So get going, people. Make healthy life decisions, get your friends to look out for you, win excellent stuff, and make a meaningful contribution to charity.
