Paris Hilton has been fairly distant from the media for a quite a while. But in a recent interview with The Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern, Paris Hilton explains everything she has been up to, oh and she chats about Kim Kardashian. Hilton talked about her career, her new album for Lil Wayne’s Cash Money Records, and how the Bling Ring robbed her of some precious heirlooms.

There has been no official announcement as yet, but Hilton has been signed to Cash Money Records. Some paperwork is still being finalised and after that should come the big announcement. She is currently in studio putting the finishing touches on her album which she says is “going to be so sick.” If you’re wondering about the genre:

Kim Kardashian “duplicating Hilton’s blueprint for stardom.”

People say it all the time, but it’s not something I really think about. I’ve seen a lot of girls in Hollywood try to duplicate what I’ve done because I was the first one to do all of this. I think it’s flattering to see that people want to be like me, I guess.

Her career and joining the family business.

The “Simple Life” days are over for Paris, she has just opened her 44th Paris Hilton store and launched her 15th perfume. She prides herself on being a businesswoman and not being interested in that “scene” anymore.

I’ve been going out for so long, and now when I’m at an event or a party, I’m being paid to be there or I’m there for my products or my brand. Now it’s just about business. I don’t enjoy going out like I used to.

Hilton is also set to join the family business. Her first property is opening in Manila. The complex houses a movie theatre, a nightclub, restaurant, spas and a manmade beach. After that, Hilton is hoping to open a few boutique hotels and nightclubs in Mumbai.

The Bling Ring gang.

These attacks started in late 2008, when Hilton was targeted by the privileged teenage gang. Despite living in a gated community in Los Angeles, the Bling Ring gang managed to make their way onto her property. They had made a copy of her front door key and entered Hilton’s home six times. The first few times the gangs stole from Hitlon, they took anything designer – handbags, dresses, sunglasses. But their final robbery upset Hilton the most. The gang stole $2 million worth of priceless jewelry.

Both of my grandmothers had passed away in the past couple of years and left me jewelry that had been in my family for ages that I’ll never be able to replace. Awful.

Some of the stolen goods Hilton got back, but she said, “only my costume stuff.”

Anything of value, every single Rolex, diamond earring, or anything else, they had sold. I just got back a bunch of things that weren’t that important to me.

But it wasn’t only jewelry and designer items that caught the robbers eyes, they removed polaroids from a racy shoot she had done for her Champagne line.

And they took some photos. I did a campaign for my Champagne line and they had me painted all in gold—I actually have them blown up in my living room—and those were the Polaroids from the shoot.

Hilton still lives in the house that was burgled and that will be featured in Sophia Coppola’s new movie based on the Bling Ring gang. And of course Hilton makes a cameo appearance.
