There is a cloak of secrecy surrounding the Bilderberg conference, where it is believed that billionaires, executives of mutlinational companies and even royal family members converge. Some conspiracy theorists think it is where these powerful leaders plan and plot “world domination.” The four day conference which started on June 6, 2013 is currently taking place in Britain at the Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire with police security beefed up and the funds coming out of the British taxpayers’ pockets.
Watford town mayor Dorothy Thornhill said:
I think it’s outrageous that the local taxpayer has to pick up the tab for ostensibly a private meeting of trillionaires, probably the most wealthy people in the world.
Hertfordshire Constabulary have suddenly got this unexpected budget strain dumped on them at literally a month’s notice. It’s not on.
Unsure of what Bilderberg is or does, this is from the official website:
Founded in 1954, Bilderberg is an annual conference designed to foster dialogue between Europe and North America. Every year, between 120-150 political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia and the media are invited to take part in the conference. About two thirds of the participants come from Europe and the rest from North America; one third from politics and government and the rest from other fields. The conference is a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world. Thanks to the private nature of the conference, the participants are not bound by the conventions of office or by pre-agreed positions. As such, they can take time to listen, reflect and gather insights. There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.
Some of those on the guest list are Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, founder and CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos, group Chief Executive of BP Robert Dudley, group Chairman of HSBC Holdings Douglas J. Flint and editor-in-chief of the Economist John Micklethwait.
Alex Jones, conspiracy theorist and radio host explains his view of the Bilderberg conference.
