Nelson Mandela was admitted to the Pretoria hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning. Reports suggest the former president is in a serious condition, but is stable. A frail 94-year-old Mandela has been in and out of hospital recently for various reasons, but it seems a recurring lung infection has put him back in hospital again.
And this has only fueled reporters’ needs to stay abreast of his condition while in hospital. With reporters braving the cold winter air to monitor the entrances of the hospital, reports have emerged that all available parking had been taken by 07h00 this morning. Over seven broadcast vans were parked outside. The media was also providing information to passers by regarding Mandela’s condition.
