The first Google Glass porn app was launched on Monday morning. But not if Google had anything to say about it, and they did. Hours after the porn app was launched Google banned “sexually explicit material” on Google Glass. MiKandi released the pornographic app, an Android app store for adults. The app would have allowed Google Glass users to view pictures and watch ‘movies’ that had been filmed using Google Glass.
As previously published reports mentioned, Google Glass for porn was to allow for a more detailed experience. Their aim was to have hands free “point of view” shots, instead of the camera man nailing the angle. But now it seems porn directors’ dreams have been shattered. The developer policies for Google Glass have been ‘upgraded’ to include this clause.
We don’t allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts or sexually explicit material.
The app has already received over 10,000 visits to its landing page and according to Jesse Adams, MiKandi CEO, there have already been Google Glass owners signing up with the app. Now obviously the app will have to be revamped in order to comply with the new policies. Adams said on a blog post:
Although the app is still live and people are using it, at this point we must make changes to the app in order to comply with the new policies. Expect to see changes to the application tomorrow.
There are plans for a new app that includes content that is not forbidden, we’re not entirely sure how though.
