This unmanned prototype of a supersonic airplane is the next thing after the demise of the Concorde. The unmanned prototype of a supersonic airplane was unveiled last week in Utsunomiya, Japan. This supersonic aircraft is being developed by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Fuji Heavy Industries Inc.
The airplane is eight metres long and weighs a ton. The new design will feature reduced noise, which was a huge issue with the Concorde. It is predicted that should a passenger jet carrying 50 people be built from the same design and technology, the noise would be reduced by 75%.
The supersonic airplane is set to undergo a series of flight tests in Sweden later this year.
