A mystery player has won the recent EuroMillions lottery jackpot prize of £81million. The ticket was purchased in the UK, which is where the online lottery ticket service buys tickets on your behalf. Best you check your emails to see if it wasn’t your ticket!
This, from the Telegraph:
The winner has instantly become four times richer than award-winning singer Adele.
The as-yet unnamed Briton would become the joint 908th richest person in the country, according to The Sunday Times Rich List 2012.
Although the mystery winner’s prize isn’t the largest ever won on the lottery, it puts the lucky ticket-holder in sixth place on the National Lottery Rich List.
The winner is just £10 million short of music legend Brian May who is worth £90 million, but can boast of being four times richer than Adele who has a fortune of £20 million.
The largest ever Europe and UK win in the EuroMillions lottery went to Chris and Colin Weir from north Ayrshire, who landed £161 million in 2011.
