Customers of the American retailer, JC Penny, noticed one of the company’s advertised tea kettles has an uncanny resemblance to German dictator, Adolf Hitler. The billboard, with the kettle advertised on it, is displayed on the 405 Interstate highway near Culver City in California. The 405 Interstate is known to be one of the busiest highways in America.
The Hitler look-a-like tea kettle gained a lot of traction when this picture was posted on the photo sharing site Imgur, but the company has denied any link between the product and Adolf Hitler. Even receiving comments from Reddit users such as, “I’m a little Nazi, short and stout.”
When the article written by the The Telegraph, JC Penny responded with this tweet.
@telegraph Certainly unintended. If we’d designed the kettle to look like something, we would’ve gone w/a snowman: twitter.com/jcpenney/statu…
