US Teen Arrested With Home Made Bombs Was Planning To “Make Improvements” On The Columbine Massacre

This 17-year-old student from Albany, Oregon, was planning an attack on the West Albany High School. The bombing was styled on the Columbine massacre which occurred 14 years ago. Police found several bombs under the floorboards of Grant Acord's bedroom as well as detailed plans of the attack.

Fourteen years after the Columbine massacre, the devastation continues with this Columbine-style plot. The bombing was allegedly being planned by a 17-year-old male student in Albany, Oregon, in the United States. The teenager, Grant Acord, had reportedly built bombs and had a detailed plan of attack which included diagrams and checklists gathered from police evidence.

Diagrams, checklists, a plan to use explosive devices, and firearms to carry out a plan specifically modeled after the Columbine shootings.

The target for the attack was West Albany High School. According to District Attorney John Haroldson, authorities had found “napalm bombs, pipe bombs, drain-cleaner bombs and a Molotov cocktail.” The bombs were discovered under the floorboards of the teenagers bedroom floor.

Grant Acord

After a tip off, the police became suspicious of Acord according to Haroldson.

[The police] received information that associated … Acord with manufacturing a destructive device with the intent of detonating it at a school.

Haroldson continued:

I can’t say enough about how lucky we are that there was an intervention. When I look at the evidence in the case, I shudder to think of what could have happened here.

Acord will be charged as an adult with aggravated murder as well as charges relating to bomb making said Haroldson.
