Introducing Gerhard de Kock.
This Cape Town based photographer expresses his talent through an array of subject matter. From editorial shoots to striking portraiture, Gerhard has a knack for capturing energy filled moments and making them a thing of art.
Music is and always has been a part of my life, live shows are where I am able to shoot how I feel the music and this allows me to capture that energy that everyone in the room and on stage exerts at once. Going to shows in the past was the platform I used to shoot in the beginning. So I would say I started shooting as a whole because of live music and shows, this is where I found the love for photographing the world and those around me.
Since he graduated in 2010 from Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography, the talented photo-buff has had his work published in magazines around Cape Town and many online features.
Through assisting some of Cape Towns top photographers I have gained the knowledge needed and the experience in working with my clients on a very professional level and work ethic.
Check out the gallery below of Gerhard’s hair-raising photography. For more of his work you can go to his online blog here, or to his online portfolio here.
My work shows how I see the world around me, the energy that every day people and surroundings portray on a daily basis. Through starting out with film I have always been a fan of the raw feeling that Black and White photography gives, to me it’s more of an honest portrayal of people.
