Ok so a while ago Google Now, the voice recognising system for Android and IOS was released. Now the fanshy product has been developed so we can use it on our desktop, yes you heard me, you can now Google things by talking to your computer.
Yesterday at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco, the breakthrough in technology was announced and accepted with excitement.
Business Insider’s Steve Kovach:
That was an incredible demo. This is the future.
So what does the future do then?
Google Now for desktop, enables you to do things like search the web, set reminders or get directions somewhere – all by talking to your computer. Don’t worry, this isn’t one of those where you have to get the accent and phrases right, like Siri. The technology can pick up on how people normally speak, full sentences and all.
For example in the video above the lady asks “How long will it take me to drive to Santa Cruz beach?” and straight away Google brings up maps and distances to suit your needs. But it doesn’t stop there. The programme can also set reminders and transfer them to your phone – given you have the software on your mobile too.
So now you can tell Google Now on your desktop, to remind you to feed your dog, and it will track when you arrive home via your smartphone, and send you the reminder.
