Looks like those huge cash registers are going to be a thing of the past, very soon.
Remember Square? The app start-up that makes it possible to accept card payments via iOS and Android? Square has developed the Square Stand.
This stand holds an iPad horizontally, and attached to it is a card swipe machine. The stand retails for R2,765, and is a boon for retailers, who typically lose a chunk of their revenue through sales commission fees to card vendors like Visa and MasterCard. You can get your hands on one of these by pre-ordering on Square’s website, here.
The Business In A Box package includes the iPad stand, cash drawer and an optional receipt printer, so if you’re in the business, they have made it all easy and futuristic for you.
