A video of a cyclist being man handled by a diplomat’s security guards for hitting the roof of their vehicle as they skipped a red robot was published earlier this week.
The latest on the story is that the South African diplomatic policing unit has opened a case crimen injuria and intimidation against Hein van der Merwe, the cyclist accosted by the guards.
The case was brought by a Mr SR Khoza, who according to the police, was the driver of the vehicle.
Van der Merwe attempted to open a case against Khoza and his colleagues at the Brooklyn Police station, but was turned away because it was a diplomatic matter.
It has been confirmed that an internal investigation has been opened against the police officer who turned van der Merwe away when he attempted to open a case.
No word yet on who the scumbag diplomat is.
