Based on the ancient adage of “you are what you eat”, this app called IGNITE tracks the day-to-day your life, from the meals you eat to the amount of exercise you do, and computes that info into an estimation of how long – or short – you’re likely to live. Far from being a magic bullet for health, the app simply shows you the cold hard facts. It’s up to you how you change your habits, and increase the length of your life.
The interface is simple to understand and displays the data in a unique and colourful way. Every activity you engage in either adds or subtracts from your life number. The app is also paired with an IGNITE Pad, which docks with the smartphone to measure the user’s weight.
And if seeing days of your life subtracted from an iPhone screen after a smoke isn’t motivation enough, the app calculates insurance rates for you based on your projected health.
And of course, there’s a leaderboard built in to the interface, because there’s nothing quite like shaming the weak members of the herd.
