Author, Mike Brodie has spent years documenting the phenomenon of train hopping in the US, and he’s found that most train hoppers are middle class kids. Mike Brodie is one of them, Brodie left home when he was 17 years old and has never looked back.
In five years Brodie had covered more than 50,000 miles (80,467 km) and had travelled through 46 states. Throughout his journey he documented the journeys of his fellow train hoppers, eventually publishing a book titled “A Period of Juvenile Prosperity.”
