We can’t imagine that it’s the easiest thing for stage performers to see who they’re picking out in a crowd during a concert. Still, if you plan on inviting a fan to the stage, you probably don’t expect to be snubbed.
Beyonce was once again giving it her all in front of about 80 000 people at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday. As part of the performance, Beyonce planned to grab a lucky fan from the crowd, and let them sing the “to the left, to the left” lyrics of her hit, “Irreplaceable”. However on this night Beyonce didn’t know that the “lucky fan” she picked was none other than Princess Eugenie (the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson). According to the Mirror:
Beyonce clearly didn’t recognise her so when it came to Irreplaceable, and the part where she picks on an audience member to join in with her, she simply chose the first woman she could reach
Ok so that’s no Prince Harry- so we are going to give Beyonce the benefit of the doubt for not recognizing who the Princess was. But she did proceed to urge her “chosen fan” AKA Princess to join in the song. A embarrassed Eugenie cowered away from the starlit in complete shock and shyness- com’on princess.
When Eugenie, who had gone bright-red, ducked down, Beyonce was forced to quickly fill in the missing words and find a new, willing victim.
Coy much, Eugenie? We think so. Barring Beyonce’s little in run in with royalty it looks like she gave quite the performance. Eugenie on the other hand will have burning regret to live with, for the rest of her life.
