“A Boy and His Atom” is officially the world’s smallest movie. The film has been magnified 100 times, enabling us mere mortals to view it. The movie was created by IBM and was developed through the manipulation of thousands of carbon monoxide molecules. The result is an animated stop-motion short.
The one minute video shows individual molecules being rearranged, and result in an image of a boy dancing, throwing a ball and jumping on a trampeline.
The movie now holds a record in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the smallest physical motion picture known to humankind.
