Instead of going through the hassel of booking hair appointments, calling dog parlors and going shopping for over priced items, take a second to look around your house, and find things that can help fix the problem without you dropping extra cash monies. Here’s a top five list of household products that have an often overlooked second use.
Use your morning fix to dye your hair
Coffee isn’t just a reason to get up in the morning. It can also be used to make those brown locks shine like a R500 trip to the hairdresser. According to Mint.com, a nice strongly brewed (and cooled) pot of black coffee can dye light hair dark, and lend extra gloss to dulled dark hair. A 10 to 15 minute soak in the caffeine and a cool water rinse is all you need to look gorgeous again.
Vinegar is basically shampoo for dogs
Struggling to keep your pooch looking dapper? Vinegartips.com reckons you should mix white distilled vinegar with a cup of water when washing your hound, and they’ll shine like the face of a teenager.
Cinnamon is the new Doom
Cans of pesticide are all pricey, and sometimes ineffective. Anniesremedy.com says that a sprinkle of cinnamon in the corners of the house that are infested acts as a good insect repellent. Cinnamon challenge, 1. Insects, 0.
Macbooks can (and should) get the same care as a baby’s bottom
FINGERPRINTS! The sight of greasy smudges on your aluminium baby is enough to drive anyone to dispair. Good news is that baby wipes can make good alternative to expensive tech swabs. It’s a cloth and a cleaning product all in one, and it comes in packs of 100. Best!
Baking soda can get rid of unnecessary plumbers crack
Before you call the infamous plumber to unblock your drain or spend money on overpriced products, take a look at this. Take half a cup of baking soda and put it down the drain with an addition of slowly poured vinegar, leave for five minutes, and follow with about four litres of boiling water. Blockage, gone.
