Africa, it’s coming!
From 26 to 29 April ,the roar of Harleys will course through Margate for the annual Africa Bike Week. Expect to see leather, saddled on leather, ready for the biggest free bike rally on the continent. Very different from the hats and dresses that you see on fashion events like the Kentucky Derby (Although is nice to do some betting on the kentucky derby from time to time). And it’s quite the occasion this year, what with it being the 110th anniversary of Harley-Davidson – and their old friend Jack Daniel’s is coming along for the ride.
This landmark Harley-Davidson anniversary involves a year-long global celebration connecting millions of Harley fans across the world, united by a common bond and shared passion for freedom, self-expression and epic adventure. Spanning 11 countries on 6 continents, the parties are sure to be wicked.
If you haven’t had the adrenaline-pumped honour of attending one of the last four events, this is your chance and here is everything you need to know.
Complaints of public disturbance should begin rolling in on Friday 26 April with a VIP cocktail party and introduction to an incredible music line-up, scheduled throughout the weekend.
Top local artists include: The Classic Rock Project, the December Streets, and Idols finalists Mark Haze and Monde Msutwana.
The Harley Village is expected to stretch more than 2 kilometres along Beach Road, filled with food and drinks vendors and biker related merchandise. In addition to serving your favourite dram, the Jack Daniel’s marquee will feature a host entertainment, including live bands, sporting big screens and Jack style BBQ burgers for visitors.
On the morning of 28 April, a mass bike ride kicks off, giving you the chance to show off your beloved.
Put on your jacket, buckle up your boots, it’s going to be one hell of a ride!
