Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing was charged with using weapons of mass destruction yesterday, but the teenager seems to have attracted some vocal fans who claim he is innocent.
Emily Jolly, a 20-year-old student at Holmes Community College in Mississippi is certain that Tsarnaev is no terrorist. She has taken to Twitter to voice her consternation, and created the hashtag #freejahar in hopes of gaining enough attention for the suspect to get a “badass lawyer.”
Here is a kid with no known terrorist ties. He is nineteen years old, he’s a US citizen, he has never been in trouble with the law previously, and the main reason—there’s no motive. There’s no evidence that Jahar was a radical Islamist. He barely even attended his local mosque. What reason does he have to hate the U.S.? He’s got scholarships from the state of Massachusetts. he’s a citizen, this is his home and it has been his home since he was nine years old.
When I first started to express my opinions online, I found that so many of the people that know Jahar were expressing similar opinions.
Also, these people are being watched by the FBI. Why does the FBI care what these guys’ opinions are if they have evidence to prove otherwise?
These fans are claiming certain discrepancies with the evidence provided by the FBI..
WOW. In these pics jahar has a different number on his cap, and the nose is different. #FreeJahar twitter.com/IamEvan_S/stat…

Of course, there are claims of a police cover up.
Cover up by police so that he can’t be questioned & the truth can’t come out #FreeJahar twitter.com/dalu3a_93/stat…

And then, there’s this. The video circulating the internet, where supporters believe the backpack has been photoshopped out of the frame.
And this one.
