Expelled ANC Youth League Leader, Julius Malema, will have his half-built Sandown home auctioned off next month by Bidders Choice auction house. Pieter Geldenhuys, spokesperson for Bidders Choice said:
It is definitely focused on the entertainer’s market and is at an excellent address. The design is hi-tech and very tasteful.
According to Nobantu Mtimde from Makwande Auctioneers the house was “almost completely done.” It does not however, have plumbing, ceilings, flooring or glasswork.
This was the property that Malema purchased in 2009. He tore down the existing house and started construction on four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, cinema room, coffee bar, jacuzzi, cigar lounge, wine cellar and a lift. The property was purchased for R3,6 million.
The three storey home was attached by the court in order to cover Malema’s tax bill of R16 million. It is reported that the Johannesburg home will go under the hammer on 9 May 2013.
