There was a curious case of mistaken identity yesterday as Margaret Thatcher was laid to rest at St Paul’s Cathedral, in London. Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the leader of KZN-based Inkatha Freedom Party was mistaken for the late Ray Charles, a famed jazz musician.
According to reports, cameras went crazy for “a dapper looking Ray Charles” during the Bishop of London’s sermon. Pity they didn’t figure out that Charles was deceased.
Buthelezi was one of the dignitaries who attended the Iron Lady’s funeral.
Even the Twittersphere was confused about “Ray Charles” being at the funeral.
