A North Korean propaganda website has posted a video of the United states Capitol building being hit by an explosion. The video, published by the Uriminizkkiri (say that fast) agency begins by showing still images of North Korean artillery, missiles and soldiers.
The still images then move to video shots of missiles fired into the United States Capitol Building. A caption of the video translated by South Korean news agency, Yonhap said:
The White House is caught in the panoramic sight of a (North Korean) long-range missile. This hotbed of war is in the scope of a nuclear bomb blow.
James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence told the Senate Intelligence Committee:
These programs demonstrate North Korea’s commitment to develop long-range missile technology that could pose a direct threat to the United States, and its efforts to produce and market ballistic missiles raise broader regional and global security concerns.
Heather Williams, research fellow at the United Kingdom’s Chatham House website said regarding the the attacks on the Capitol building and New York are “a more serious situation than we have seen in quite a while.”
