Last month’s rumours were true. Comedy cult icon, David Brent, is back. And he is raising money for charity. Brent returns in a 10 minute mini episode after The Office. This YouTube video was premiered on UK’s Comic Relief Day. Comic Relief is an organization that raises money for positive change through the art of entertainment.
Gervais previously told The Sun:
I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he’s been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he’s up to now. He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now.”
The video takes us through Brent’s life after leaving his position at Wernham Hogg Paper Company. Apart from selling cleaning products out of the boot from his car, Brent now makes a living by managing an up and coming artist named Johnson. It’s quality.
Here’s a little teaser from Johnson’s single, “Equality Street”.
