After months of speculation, it is official. The grandson of George HW Bush, and nephew of George W. Bush, George P. Bush is running for the office of Texas Land Commissioner. Originally from Mexico, the Spanish-speaking attorney from Fort Worth is reportedly a rising star.
His father, Jeb Bush was the former Florida governor and is considered a 2016 Republican candidate for Presidency. Talk about a political gene pool.
Trey Newton, spokesperson for George P. Bush, told the Associated Press that before filing the official paperwork on Tuesday, Bush spoke to current Land Commissioner, Jerry Patters. The office of Land Commissioner could be a stepping stone to a higher position in Texas Government.
George P. Bush unveiled a three minute video where he says, “Texas is an exceptional state because we as Texans are exceptional,” and a new campaign website.
