After seeing the functionality of this app, it makes us wonder why no one has thought of it sooner. Thread is a new app that helps you keep up to date with your phone contacts. Not only does it give you the classic caller ID, it also shows the most recent Facebook and Twitter posts of the person calling you, as well as the last sms and/or e-mail you received from the contact. Genius.

The obvious advantages of this is that you can never be unawares of the purpose of a random phone call, and if you need to refer to information sent in previous correspondence, it’s right there.

Of course, this app is only available on Android, where people still make phone calls.

iOS users will have switched to texting many moons ago.
