Yes, you read correctly. The Samsung Galaxy S IV is set to be able to track the movement of your eyes to scroll up or down, supposedly. The innovation is more likely to happen than not, considering the evidence.
Although Samsung was tight lipped when questioned about the proposed eye scrolling, saying, “We don’t comment on the market rumours or speculation.”
How very Apple of them.
However, according to the Times, Samsung filed Trademark applications for “Eye Scroll” and “Eye Pause” and “Samsung Eye Scroll” in the United in February which read:
Computer application software having a feature of sensing eye movements and scrolling displays of mobile devices, namely, mobile phones, smartphones and tablet computers according to eye movements; digital cameras; mobile telephones; smartphones; tablet computers.
Samsung III already includes Smart Stay. Software that watches the user through a front faced camera to determine if the user is actively looking at the phone or not. If the user is, then the screen stays lit, but if it detects that the user is looking away then the screen darkens.
Looks like this could happen.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV is set to be unveiled on 14 March in New York.
