Remember last year’s Top Gear Festival in Durban’s sexual Moses Mabhida Stadium? We do.
There was a world record-breaking loop-the-loop, if memory serves.
It would be difficult for the 2013 edition to top that. But just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any better, they drop Mika Hakkinen on us.
Remember Mika Hakkinen? The Ying to Schumacher’s Yang? The Goldfinger to his Bond? That’s right, this guy:
That man, The Great Flying Finn, will be at the Top Gear Festival for the second in the trilogy of the hugely successful Top Gear Festival weekends on June 15 and 16, powered by Shell V-Power .
Mika will be appearing as one of the guest drivers, and fans can look forward to four sensational live stadium performances hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and their tame racing driver, The Stig – along with their amazing team of dare-devil precision drivers.
Also returning is the unique and action-packed Durban Street Circuit which last year played host to a 90-minute track show hosted by Le Mans racing driver, Tiff Needell and local F1 presenter and DJ, Sasha Martinengo – not forgetting the hugely anticipated Formula 1 display. And if you’re anxious to get your hands on some merchandise, the extensive motoring expo is a stone’s throw away in the People’s Park.
Tickets are now on sale ranging from the Basic Ticket at R250 to R2 100 for an Ultimate Village Package. For more information on ticket prices or to book visit the Top Gear Fest website.
There is also a full range of travel packages giving Top Gear enthusiasts the perfect excuse for a weekend in Durban. For more information on travel packages available, go to THIS LINK, or the EduSport website.
