We’ve all heard of the Six Degrees of Separation (and by implication, from Kevin Bacon), the chain that’s shown everyone is connected by six associations or less. But what about websites? Well, there are many more websites on the web than there are people on the planet. Around double, in fact.
Hungarian physicist, Albert-László Barabási has discovered some commonality between the estimated 14 billion internet pages. Although you may not be able to get to every page in six steps, Barabási’s research shows that one can navigate from one site to any other in just 19 clicks or less.
