A tongue-in-cheek November 2012 article featured on 2oceansvibe has returned to the spotlight. What was originally an article about jealousy, turns out to reveal some relevant insight. This, following Oscar Pistorius’ alleged killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
This, from our November 2012 article:
Star Olympian Oscar Pistorius has found a place in many a South African’s heart – but he is the ultimate player, says his ex-girlfriend Samantha Taylor.
“Oscar is certainly not what people think he is. We dated for a year and a half,” the Cape Town marketing student told City Press on Friday night.
In September she and Oscar appeared on the beaches of the Seychelles in the SABC3 magazine show Top Billing.
Taylor initially told City Press Reeva is dating one of Pistorius’ friends, and later said the model was fully aware of what had happened in her and Oscar’s relationship.
“She has been following me for a long time on Instagram (a photo-sharing system on Twitter) and knows exactly where I am and everything going on in my relationship with Oscar,” she said.
She confirmed she and Pistorius had recently split after a year and a half.
“Oscar has such a way with women. She’s probably not the only one he’s got.”
In her interview with City Press’ sister newspaper Rapport, Taylor first said she was “prepared to reveal what (Pistorius) made me go through”, but in a lawyer’s letter late on Friday evening she withdrew everything she had said.

It is not yet known whether or not the state will call upon Ms. Taylor to testify in the upcoming murder trial.
Meanwhile, Reeva Steenkamp’s family have emphasised that they look forward to finding out the “true” story behind the killing of their beloved Reeva. Watch the statement made by her uncle, Mike Steenkamp here.
