Remember this guy?
For those of you who were born in the last 12 months, here’s a brief catch-up.
There once was a Mr South Africa 2011 candidate named Adriaan Bergh.
In order to promote his profile and garner votes, he produced this video – which was totally sincere, by the way.
Mr South Africa 2011 Semi Finalist Interview Adriaan Bergh from Adriaan Bergh on Vimeo.
Dammit. We love those sweat patches. And the leg touch at 2:20 is still solid gold.
The video went viral, and generated a well-executed parody. Nevertheless, his profile was boosted significantly, and Adriaan saw it in his heart to thank 2oceansvibe for endorsing him as our preferred candidate for Mr South Africa 2011.
Then the unthinkable happened. Adriaan actually won the Mr South Africa 2011 title. And we thought that would be the end of that delightful chapter in South African pop culture.
Until we found out last week that he and Ms South Africa 2011, Melinda Bam are an item.
Here are a few things we enjoyed about that last video:
0:41 – That laugh
1:18 – The hand-boning
2:00 – “The thing about Melinda is that I don’t need to try to impress her.”
Apparently, Melinda is starting a clothing label called “Bamshell”. Because “Bam” sort of sounds like “bomb”. And a “bombshell” is a really sexually attractive woman. So she’s implying that she’s a really sexually attractive woman, because her name is Bam. And maybe if you wear her clothes you can be a really sexually attractive woman, because “Bam” sounds like “bomb”, and a “bombshell” is a really sexually attractive woman, get it?
These two are a match made in heaven.

P.S. Oh yes, Adriaan’s also a rapper, in case you missed that.
