Cape Town rocked its head off last night, as the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed live at Cape Town Stadium. Fans were treated to a bunch of the band’s biggest hits, including the rare occasion of both ‘Dani California’ and ‘Scar Tissue’ being played at the same concert.
Another cool vibe was when Anthony Kiedis sang ‘I Could Have Lied‘ which they have only performed on one other occasion in the past nine concerts. Kiedis wrote the song about Sinead O’Connor after she ripped his heart apart.
Below is the set list (according to setlist.fm – who are apparently slightly incorrect).
NOTE: This is the worst set list ever. They didn’t actually play Otherside, and they DID play Suck My Kiss. Perhaps the peeps at setlist.fm also had some moonshine, masquerading as Royal Guard gin tot-packs.
1) Monarchy of Roses
2) Dani California
3) Scar Tissue
4) Snow (Hey Oh)
5) Otherside
6) Can’t Stop
7) Scar Tissue
8) Universally Speaking
9)The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie
10) Under the Bridge
11) Californication
12) By the Way
Encore:
13) Encore Jam
14) Around the World
15) I Could Have Lied
16) Give It Away
