Presenting, everything you need to know to have a good time at tonight’s Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert in Cape Town.
IMPORTANT TIMES
Gates open: 5pm
Die Antwoord: 7.45pm to 8.30pm
Red Hot Chili Peppers: 9pm to 10.40pm
GETTING AROUND
No parking at – or around – the stadium will be made available to the general public.
Instead, concertgoers can:
– Use public transport to the Civic Centre bus station to catch the free event shuttle to the stadium
– Park in the City Bowl and use the event shuttle
– Park at the V&A Waterfront and walk to the stadium However, be aware that traffic into and out of the Waterfront on concert days is usually very heavily congested – so factor this into your concert-day plans!
You can also catch a train to the Cape Town terminal and walk to the Stadium from there. The Fan Walk along Somerset Road in Green Point will be open and is expected to be very busy – the restaurants in particular are pumping on show days.
Additionally, there are three event shuttles are available to valid ticket-holders:
Limited special Metrorail, MyCiTi and event shuttle services will be available after the concert, from 11.45pm to midnight, depending on the line.
A bus from Adderley Street to Strand via Goodwood will leave at midnight in lieu of a train.
For a full list of these services – which will be free on presentation of a valid concert stub – you can check out the City of Cape Town’s transport plan.
Further enquiries may be directed to the Transport Information Centre, contactable on 0800 65 64 63.
