Life is not looking too pretty for Malema. Nothing remains of his fortune; cars, houses and cash have all been seized by authorities to pay back his Sars debt of R16 million. Malema may even loose the very cabbages that he now farms in Limpopo.
This week Sars applied to the Pretoria High Court to have Malema sequestered. Sheriffs have been instructed to bag all of Juju’s movable and immovable property, and have since pounced on both his Polokwane and Sandton homes. Sars Spokesman Adrian Lackay confirmed that the “attachment has happened, he did not oppose that.”
Malema offered no comment. “I am not going to talk about these things. Speak to my lawyer.”
His lawyer Nicqui Galaktiou, was also mum regarding the boning.
When sheriffs raided his homes in Limpopo, occupants were evicted as Sars reclaimed the home.
Household contents such as fridges, beds – and probably his treadmill – were taken away from the Limpopo house and another Sandown home, which he has been renting.
Some assets belonging to Julius will be kept in storage until they can be sold, but reports suggest that the value of his assets is much less than his R16 million Sars tax bill.
