Not content with only having world’s tallest building, the world’s biggest indoor ski resort, and the world’s most luxurious hotel, Dubai will also soon add the world’s largest underwater hotel to their checklist.
According to Deep Ocean Technology, the company behind the design, the hotel will consist of two sets of discs: one above water and one below. It will be known as The Water Discus.
The underwater disc, located up to 10 meters below the surface, will contain 21 hotel rooms, as well as an underwater dive center and bar.
Special lighting system of the area around the room and the miniature underwater vehicles which can be operated from inside will allow you to take a closer look at even the most microscopic underwater creatures using macro photography.
The surface disc will house a restaurant, spa, and recreation area.
The Water Discus is also intended as an environmentally conscious research center, as well as a tourism hub.
We would like to create here in the UAE the International Environmental Program and Center of the Underwater World Protection — with Water Discus Hotel as a laboratory tool for ocean and sea environment protection and research.
