Okay, so we can’t confirm if that will be the title of the film, but it sure would be a good one. Nonetheless, what we can confirm is that the film will be based on an investigative account of the same name by New York Times reporter Juliet Macur.
It’s been confirmed that Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot have secured the movie rights to the proposal for The New York Times sportswriter Juliet Macur’s imminent book, Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.
The book is due for release in June, but no word on when production will begin on the movie.
Macur has covered cycling and Armstrong for the New York Times since Lance made his recovery from cancer, as well as his seven Tour de France victories, and right through to the inquiries surrounding his use of PED’s.
Sure, we all know the story from start to finish now, but this would make a good film.
Other projects have thus far failed to reach the market, including one account by notable ex-teammate and evidence leader, Tyler Hamilton, called The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France: Doping, Cover-ups, and Winning at All Costs.
