Superyachts.com has just released their mind-blowing annual Top 100 biggest yachts in existence list.
Top of the list is Roman Abramovich’s R8.9bn yacht, Eclipse (pictured above). Completed at the end of 2010 at the Blohm + Voss Hamburg shipyard, this is the largest private yacht in the world. It has two swimming pools, two helipads, a dedicated disco hall, 30 cabins, a cinema, a mini-submarine, and even its own missile defence system.
Abramovich’s master suite is also armour-plated and protected by bullet-proof windows and a laser system designed to dazzle long-lens photographers.
However, the Eclipse won’t be the biggest for much longer. Check out the 180m motor yacht, Project Azzam – currently being built by Lurssen Yachts and is due to be launched this year:
