If you weren’t around in the early 90’s, you totally missed out on the coolest rap group at the time: Kriss Kross!
Consisting of Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly, and Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith, these dudes not only cranked out funky hits such as Jump, but their Totally Krossed Out album sold millions of copies in the US alone.
The duo also inspired the rest of us to wear our clothes backwards like them:
These young boys were so popular at the time, they even landed a spot on Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Whether or not this also included a ticket to the infamous Neverland Ranch is not known.
After disappearing for nearly 20 years, Kris Kross is back, and hoping to make a comeback. It has just been announced that they will perform with Da Brat, Xscape, Bow Wow and several others at next month’s So So Def’s 20th Anniversary All Star Concert in Atlanta.
But what do these boys look like today? Check them out below. That’s Mac Daddy on the left, and Daddy Mac on the right:
And in case you missed their awesomeness the first time around, we highly reccomend giving their funky video for Jump a spin below:
