The beloved tradition continues! That’s right, boys and girls, the annual 2oceansvibe Intern Hunt is underway!

No experience is necessary. We’re looking for sharp minds, and fresh meat.

Here are some questions you need to ask yourself:

1) Do want to witness the dawn of sexy, groundbreaking profitable publishing?

2) Do you want to have a hand in the daily running of a disruptive and innovative media company?

3) Do you want to become a sought after commodity in the media job market?

4) Do you want to begin a massive collection of alcohol and Sunglass Hut vouchers?

If you answered yes to all four of the above questions, then an internship at 2oceansvibe Media is just the ticket for you!

2oceansvibe News

PAID INTERNSHIPS – Given the high workload of these internships, a small salary is offered. A great deal of training is invested in these candidates. As such, the internship period for paid internships is extended to one year. 

Content production intern – A creative, clever and smart rookie with a flair for the written word and trending pop culture topics will suit this roll. You’ll generate story leads, write copy, and sit at the right hand of the senior creatives to learn what creativity means in a business context.*

News Desk Intern – We’re looking for a smart kid with a nose for news to generate leads and file original stories, along with stories pulled from the wires. You need to be a suspicious, analytical, determined person who doesn’t trust the words of anyone but us, your 2oceansvibe family.

Client campaign management intern (ad sales) – This internship graduates into a full time junior position after three months if you’re good. You stick around for a year or so, and then give us the middle finger after getting head hunted for a big chunk of change when you’re a hot little biscuit.

UNPAID INTERNSHIP – You get paid in life skills and hardcore training. You leave here commanding a much higher salary than your non-2OV peers.

Video production intern – iMac provided. You’ll work with a Canon 5D M3, green screen, wireless mics and other delicious toys to produce weekly videos supplementary to 2oceansvibe News and 2oceansvibe Radio content. You’ll assist on the production and editing of client advertorial videos for native publishing. Feel free to use our camera equipment and tech to work on your own projects.

2oceansvibe Radio

UNPAID INTERNSHIP – You get paid in life skills and hardcore training. You leave here commanding a much higher salary than your non-2OV peers.

Radio engineering intern – Learn radio production 101. Drive the desk for someone like Bob Skinstad.

Content production and social media intern – Become the ninja of podcasting, and learn what it takes to run the supplementary website to a media product like 2oceansvibe Radio. And tweet that link, baby. Tweet the heck out of it.

Guest booking/diary management intern – Under the guidance of experienced 2oceansvibe Radio staff, you’ll become the Yoda of persuasive telephone conversation, liaising booking times between DJs and their guests. Yes, you will talk to famous people on a daily basis.

Internships last three months from the date of commencement. If you can’t live without us, you may apply for a full time position during your internship, which will be subject to all of the normal employment considerations.

Successful round one internship applicants will be subject to an “interview” at our offices in De Waterkant, Cape Town.
