According to Archbishop Robert Zollitsch, head of the German Catholic Church, Yes. The Son of God would have retweeted, liked, pinned, and got his love for you on the front page od reddit, apparently. The Archbishop said nothing about Google plus.
Zollitsch said on Monday:
‘Jesus would certainly today be on Facebook and Twitter . . . He was always looking for people, and took unusual routes to do this,’ he told the Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper.
The Arch’s argument was straightforward enough. He said that “[f]undamentally all media are suited to bring the word of God to the people,” ergo Christ would have tweeted for followers. Go out and be tweeters of men?
With the Pope setting up his new twitter account recently (@pontifex if that’s your thing) and now claims that Christ would have been a social media guru, are we witnessing the start of the Catholic Church 2.0?
