Twitter has launched Twitter Archive, which allows you to download every single one of your tweets, ever.
A post on the company blog announced the decision this morning.
It’s no secret: You make Twitter what it is. And if you tweet, you may have found yourself wanting to go back in time and explore your past Tweets. Maybe you wanted to recall your reaction to the 2008 election, reminisce on what you said to your partner on your 10th anniversary, or just see your first few Tweets. We know lots of you would like to explore your Twitter past.
You’re damned right we do.
With the new functionality, users will get access to all of their tweets (including Retweets) going back to the genesis of their account. Once a user has their Twitter archive, they’ll be able to view tweets by month, or search their archive to find tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or usernames.
To get your Twitter archive, go to settings and scroll down to the bottom to check for the option to request your Twitter archive. You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to access your archive when it’s ready for you to download.
If you don’t see that option yet, chill the heck out. They’re rolling it out slowly, but it’s on its way.
