The first full-length trailer for the reboot of the Superman franchise, Man of Steel, has been released online. It is believed that this is Warner Bros.’s last attempt at reviving the series, after Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns was not too kindly received by audiences in 2006.
Directed by Zack Snyder – who also helmed 300 and Watchmen – the film stars Henry Cavill (The Tudors) as Clark Kent. He is joined by a superstar cast that includes Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Kostner, and Laurence Fishburne.
The trailer (seen below) was unlocked using an innovative viral marketing campaign. On Monday, a mysterious DSRW Project website appeared online. Within hours, users had analyzed and solved the various riddles, which turned out to be Kryptonian symbols. This led fans to a website, www.N77d58W76d19.com, which revealed a Kryptonian countdown clock.
Man of Steel will be released worldwide in June 2013.
