Forest Whitaker and Orlando Bloom spent a week filming in Parkwood, an impoverished low-income area in Cape Town. The shoot formed part of Zulu – an action packed drama written and directed by Jérôme Salle. Click for gallery.
According to many local residents, Orlando and Forest were very down to earth as well as being keen to pose with locals for photographs. Construction crews spent two weeks working day and night to recreate a piece of Parkwood for the action sequences that enthralled local residents for a week. The film has also brought a much needed cash injection to the local community as unemployment is high.
Zulu is set for release in 2013.
