In November 1990, Trans World Sport caught up with a then 14-year-old Tiger Woods. That’s when Tiger predicted he would be the Michael Jordan of Golf.
By this time, he was already destined for greatness, having been a scratch player for a while, and having notched up five world junior titles too.
But he also faced prejudice because he was black. This pushed him even more, and Tiger had the confidence back then to say:
Since I’m black it might be even bigger than Jack Nicklaus. I might be even bigger than him, to the blacks. I might be sort of like a Michael Jordan in basketball. Something like that.
It’s around the 4:30 mark, but you’ll also see him toss some of his saarmie to a fox, and get some great insight from Earl, Tiger’s late father.
