After landing at Lanseria International Airport last night (she clearly knows which local airport is the best), Lady Gaga was greeted by thousands of hysterical little monsters. But at the last moment, an airport official stopped her from entering the arrivals terminal where fans had formed a tunnel for her to walk through.
According to a Big Concerts employee who was there, the official felt there were too many people and that it was not safe for Gaga. The news, as you’ll see from the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the footage below, did not go down well with the crowd.
A disappointed 24-year-old Matthew Gijzen struggled to cope with the disappointment:
If it wasn’t for the official I would have been able to see my idol…
Another shouted:
I can’t fucking believe I had to wait all day and I couldn’t see her!
Not giving up, the crowd then ran to the airport gate in the hopes of seeing Gaga’s convoy of six Mercedes-Benz Vito vans. When the singer saw them, she made her entourage turn around and spent about five minutes signing autographs.
One of the lucky monsters, one Dustin August, afterwards said that he was “mindblown forever”:
Mother Monster cares about her little monsters!
