Die Antwoord’s Fatty Boom Boom has been one of the most talked-about music videos of the year so far. But it has been for mostly the wrong reasons. Their stab at Lady Gaga, followed by a Twitter fight, sadly overshadowed the fact that the video itself is a visual masterpiece.
Take a look at the clip below. It features behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot, and provides a fascinating look into the minds of Ninja and Yolandi. One can’t help but feel respect for the amount of passion and effort they put into their work.
During the video we also meet several artists with whom they’ve collaborated with, including the legendary Roger Ballen. Viewers are also able to see where they found all the wild animals, how the sets were constructed, and why Die Antwoord body-painted themselves so drastically.
