South Africa’s scariest airline, 1Time, has filed for liquidation. EWN reporter Mandy Wiener tweeted the news late on Friday afternoon. CEO Blackie Komani stated that 1Time’s services would be suspended with immediate effect. At the time of the announcement, the company’s website was down, and it was confirmed that the company would not be honouring flights that had already been booked by customers.
BREAKING EWN: 1Time Airline has confirmed it has filed for liquidation.

1Time has been under severe financial pressure of late, while a spate of high profile mid flight engine failures did nothing to bolster consumer confidence in the low cost airline.
1Time applied for business rescue on 22 August, and announced on 11 October that it would be retrenching 15% of its staff.
